Jump to navigation.

Honderdveertig minuten in Solid Air - John Martyn - Live At Leeds.

Muzikaal, met Danny Thompson op bas, John Stevens op drums en een gastrol voor gitarist Paul Kossoff, is het echter prachtig en de repetitieversie van May You Never overtreft de concertuitvoering. Lust For Life Peter Bruyn. Album review. People who still have the original LP-version in their closets can thoroughly enjoy themselves. The LP-version only contained six tracks.

This of course being caused by the exhausting Outside In by itself, that races on for a quarter of an hour. But also because Martyn —possibly stimulated by powder or smoke- endlessly chatters between songs. This double CD contains the complete concert: twelve songs plus another six rehearsal songs. Hundred and fourty minutes in total. But unfortunately also proportional amounts of banter that one only wants to hear once. Musically, with Danny Thompson on bass, John Stevens on drums and a guest appearance for guitarist Paul Kossoff, the thing is beautiful and the rehearsal version of May You Never outshines the concert version.
